Wat Saket

Wat Saket, commonly known as Temple of the Golden Mount, located in Soi Borom Banpot between Boriphat Road and Chaka Patpong Road. This temple is famous for the Golden Mount which towers remarkably in this area. From the base of the mount, you need a bit attempt to pass 318 steps to reach the giant golden pagoda, which is one of the biggest pagodas in Thailand. After exhausting steps, you will be rewarded with the splendid panorama view of Rattanakosin Island, especially when the sun rises and sets.

The best time to visit the Golden Mount is during Loy Krathong festival, in the mid of November every year. When its annual festivity takes place, there are also many festivities, performances, and street food stalls around this area.

Wat Saket is opened daily from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Free entry for the temple. A proper dress code required.

From Pullman Bangkok Grande Sukhumvit, you can reach Wat Saket by taking BTS Sky Train from Asoke station to National Stadium station. Later, take a taxi to the temple which is about 3.5 kilometres away.
