The Festive Season including Christmas and New Year’s Eve is widely and enthusiastically celebrated by Thais, especially in Bangkok. From December or even earlier you’ll hear the many familiar songs of the season such as Jingle Bells in shopping malls and restaurants, most of which will have a Christmas tree and lots of glittering decorations. Another favourite place to enjoy festive celebration is along the Chao Praya River. At Asiatique Riverfront night market, a countdown party is organised every year and broadcasted on television. You can also choose to spend the last hours of the year on a floating restaurant or on a roof top, to add some magic.
